This is a Dixdeux. Two lines of 10 syllables each, followed by a 2 syllable line. If more than one stanza is written then the third line becomes a refrain in the following stanzas.

Warm sand runs through his fingers as he builds, a sand castle filled with elusive dreams. Waves splash. Incoming tide erodes the foundation - the castle falls and crumbles at his feet. Waves splash. Time and tide wash his castle out to sea. Sighing, he takes a breath and starts over. Waves splash.

The sandcastles do not stand up to water. It makes them weak. I have tried many times to build sandcastles they always fall apart.Enjoyed your poetry.

gosh it looks like you have been very productive recently and there are many poems of yours I have not seen now! What an interesting form this is Kim. I did not even notice it was a particular form till I looked up and saw the poet's notes. Maybe we will be seeing it used for a contest in the future!!

Thank you, Andrea. My productivity comes and goes thanks to my fickle muse. A possibility of a contest with this form is very likely.
