Ruthless
Once again, you drag me to this cliff from which I'm sure to fall,
without the slightest remorse, you open the door for my pain
seeing only the glimmer you seek, while you turn your blind eye
towards the dark specks of hurt they always carry across the portal
Your ears hearing only the sweet song that comes from the darkness,
muffled to the moist saccharine lies we both know are sure to come,
as you strain against the bonds of prudence to press closer to the void,
better to sense the vibrations of that lusty symphony as it comes nearer
Where will you be, oh ruthless desire, when the chickens of my broken
heart, come home once again, to roost?
