Running
Always there reminding me
Your memory keeps finding me
Running seems to be the only way
Where I can learn to forget
But I really haven't started yet
Just try to make it through another day
Time's no longer an ally of mine
Storms won't stop and the sun won't shine
Guess I'm paying for all the things I've done
Spent my whole life running free
You just kept forgiving me
Someday I know my battles will be won.
I have no intention of slowing down
Keep on moving from town to town
There's always something new lying up ahead
Caught up in the pouring rain
Kind of cold but it kills the pain
Never listened to what anybody said.
A new day's dawning and I'm on the run
I'll be somewhere else when the day is done
Guess I'll be alone my whole life through
Close my eyes and I can see
A better world surrounding me
Where the sun does shine and only the sky is blue.
