A fictional poem - Written- 22nd February 2024
Rambling, Rundown, Rapture Words Poety Contest - Sponsored by: Constance La France

“You never forget that someone special, who melted your heart like molten metal.”
Quote- Poet’s own
I hear your voice and tears rundown again When birds sing us their sweet morning refrain As babbling brooks flow and soft breezes blow Time goes by slowly and I miss you so. I see you in stars glittering brightly When the two of us were young and sprightly In the splendour of moonlight romancing With the both of us joyfully dancing. I feel the touch of your hand held in mine Our embrace too exquisite to define The sweet kiss from lips that made my heart flip The ecstasy and the bliss of courtship. I cherish moments that stood still in time Such as the day we heard wedding bells chime Without you this life simply isn’t the same I hear your voice and tears rundown again.

Thank you Joe, humanity and love go together, sadly at times they both flee forever. Those who’re pure of heart will rule the world one day, the day can’t come quick enough, let us pray… Beryl

Pangie, I agree this poem is in sync with yours ‘The Starlit Tear’ that received a worthy poem of the week award. Perhaps we could write a collaboration together, something to think about… Beryl xx

That's truly beautiful Belle, and as Sara notes, aching. I'm rooting for you in the contest. I like how you used your own quote.

a beautifully written poem about your ache of missing your beloved. I enjoyed how you subtly re-created your feelings (the sweet kiss from lips that made my heart flip) After reading your poem, I was sad for you. Losing one's spouse must be hard. I can't even begin to fathom. Best wishes for the contest...a great contender. Faving, hugs, Sara

Dear Sara, the poem is fictional written for Constance’s contest, sorry to have mislead you, I’ve added the word fiction next to the title so there is no confusion. My husband is safe and all is well. Thank you with hugs, Beryl
