Runaway Bride
Her life was at a crossroad
Nothing was going right
Being pulled in all directions
She was ready to take flight
The sheep have long been sleeping
But she lays in bed wide awake
Thinking of the choices
She is going to have to make
One way gives her freedom
She's desired since a child.
To move from this small town
To a city of lights that's wild
The other is to stay and marry
Raise a baby or two or three
She wonders as she stares
"Is that the life for me?"
Her choice to be made quickly
Time is not on her side
She knew he'd ask her that night
If she would be his bride
She's never seen the main street
Never experienced the hardship
Making a life all of her own
She never had sailed that ship
If there are any doubts don't do it
Life is more than a casual ride
She turns the key in the ignition
Ride away my runaway bride.
