Round and round the rumors go As rumors often do And each one adds a juicy bit Of gossip about you Reputations crumble down And evil ones rejoice, but I am lead to stop and think: Is there a better choice? When innuendos fly around Do you take time to say? “No need to add to pettiness Let’s drive these words away?” For I have learned this simple truth The ones who must malign Are sometimes those who suffer most They’re sullied in the grime In flinging dirt, you will get hurt You will get dirty, too So stop the rumors that go round Let kindness shine on trough. Don't believe in rumours. Usually they are made out of jealousy and spite.I rely on the truth and the truth is you are a beautiful person.

Thanks, Tim. You are kind. It is one of your endearing qualities. This hasn't stemmed from any recent happening. It's a bit of walking down memory lane that's done it. I've had my share of troubles here, but I'm still here, and happy to be in touch with wonderful poets such as you. :) Thank you for believing in me.

I am sure that spreading rumours is a worldwide 'disease', Eileen. Many people's lives have been ruined because of it, for even though one may be totally innocent, some mud inevitably sticks. Still...we can rely on karma! Hugs // paul

Hi, Paul. Yes...unfortunately, rumors do leave a lingering...."what if it's true?" Well, one can only hope that those who matter will know better! :) This just come to me today. Hi Eileen, You have penned a well written poem . It has a good message and great adivce.Your last stanza sums up this well written piece. "In flinging dirt, you will get hurt,You will get dirty,too,So stop the rumors that go round Let kindness shine on trough." Poetry Soup would be a better community if we took heed to these heartfelt words. A without a doubt seven:-) Alexis

Hi, sweetie. Any community will have it's share of rumors. I think time proves all things. I'm still here....still standing. ;) When it's all said and done....rumors will be ever present.
