Rough Is An Understatement

I knew you hated it then When I said I wanted more than friends. And when I spoke to you my heart You disregarded it from the start. But when I spoke those words to you, You didn't know just what to do. You took them in with such disdain And that caused me so much pain. It was only you that I wanted to please And that made it so much harder on me. I tried so hard to pull away To find someone to take my mind away.
