Roses

~Roses; Poems~ They were roses in my garden And each time their scent filled a lung The calm would be so concrete That stability would be unshakeable And love would root anew. They were roses in my garden And each time their possession conceived an ego A thorn would revive reality to remind That nurturing was needed to maintain And pride would have to abstain. They were roses in my garden And each time their bear begun Anticipation would surround a beat Until their petals were apparent And a heart would surrender its flow. They were roses in my garden And each time their bloom depleted A tear would be shed in mourning For beauty lost by a mind so blind And vitality would learn to quell. They were roses in my garden And each time their presence was sliced Hope would succumb to the loss Until a settlement was found And paper would fill a jar.
