Rooster

Rooster lived up his days on earth You could shoot the thing for what it’s worth Four o’clock in the morning and the things up crowing I was sound asleep, I think he’s knowing I wipe the sleepy from my eyes Tell him to shut up and then realize That rooster lives to annoy me But I just can’t let the rooster be “Shut up” I say, but now I’m awake, “Be quiet” I say, “For goodness sake!” Right outside my window, the thing stands crowing He’s getting on my nerves, I think he’s knowing Never will a rooster outsmart me Though loud may the crowing be Tonight before I sleep, I’ll put my earplugs in Then the rooster will lose, and I will win!
