Rooms

Let those who see fit dwell in empty rooms Enveloped by darkness, not understood Drenched in self-pity that loudly consumes A world they've chosen, I care not nor would As though their pains run deeper or longer A blackened hood of loneliness to wear Invisible disguise, to seem stronger This fatal thought of illusion, life cares First and last breath are both silent givens The world between is but a changing choice Decisions decided, never forgiven When the heart and head speak with separate voice Lonely the rooms filled with cries from hearts lyre A song of sorrow and anguished desire 4/17/14

Frederic, . I hope you don't mind your placement in my contest. Out of past experience, I know many don't like when I don't have a first or second placement. However, this is my judgment, and it only feels right, to place each poem, in the order I would have, as if there had been a first or second placement. Believe me, I'm not taking from you or your winning poem. Hugs, and enjoy my blog, "Conundrum" if you'd like. Have yourself a sweet day. ...always Linda

Hi Frederic, I don't think we've met. I enjoy your skillfully crafted poems, and this one is especially goo. I argue with people about choice, genetics--nature vs nurture all the time. The question, how much choice do we have, given genetics, environment and the rest. Like the movie, Trading Places. I don't have the answer, but you raise a powerful question. Kudos. Mel :)
