Rock
Focus on the rock,
Yes, the one in your hand.
Rub your finger across it,
Squeeze it.
Focus on the rock.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Let the panic settle in.
Feel it, but don’t let it consume you.
Focus on the rock in your hand.
Trace its grooves,
Memorize its lines and its colors.
Let the world fade,
Let the fear fade with it.
You are okay
You are safe.
Focus,
Focus on the rock.
