River of Life
Swimming in this river,
Not knowing what way to go
Feeling myself sinking
And cannot stay afloat,
Feel myself going under,
Of this world, I do not know,
This river is not of water,
It's of our life,s that we do know
No matter how hard I try and swim,
This old river feels so grim,
Darkness cloud we can,t see past,
how long will we have to swim,
to feel that we can last,
The mist is very dirty
that we can not see through,
is there a bottom that we will be sinking to,
Maybe one day someone will walk past,
and throw you a lifeline in hope that you may last,
Corners go to the left
and corners go to the right,
what one shall I take,
In the hope to see some light,
Seems like many years since have been trying to fight,
Keep me above the water,
which is really the story of our life,
I see the shadow under me,
will this be the last swim
for little old me,
Reaching for branches, that do hang down,
Trying to pull the correct one,
That will not pull me down,
In the hope that my life will someday turn around,
Swimming so hard as I can do,
Reaching out for someone that's just like you,
See the banks, there getting closer to me
Maybe this is the lifeline that I do need from a friend like you,
Shallow waters and a strong path,
Now I do know that my life will last,
Reaching out in hope of you,
To pull me out and make it through
this river of life could be of me or you,,,
