River Line
The stream meanders in the sunshine
Pebbles gently roll revealing crabs
hiding from the noisy gulls above.
They sideways saunter scurrying fast
A little boy watches .. a gull sweeps
swiftly the young lad scoops up the crabs
in his net … which is on a long rod.
Gently he replaces them near rocks.
Screeching and swooping the angry gull
is cross on losing his crab supper.
The gentle water journeys onward
towards the sea, pulled by the moons phase
