Riptide, King of the Chincoteague Ponies

He runs like the wind with his mane flowing wild, Flashing his blaze in his powerful style, Handsome like his father, a king among the ponies, On Chincoteague Island, Riptide is never lonely. Recognized and loved by countless admirers, Sought out by many fascinated photographers, Riptide is an icon like his dad, Surfer Dude, Both fiercely protected their mares to the point of a feud. Rip continues the legacy that his father brought the Isle, Free, uncontrolled and always wild, Those sassy looks as he peers through his mane, Once you meet Rip, you'll never feel the same. But mainly we love him for more than his fame, Because he brings attention to the stallions and their dames, Reminding us how important to just let them be, So future generations can see them wild and free.

Judith, there's something iconic about a free pony or wild stallion; something that speaks to our deeply held beliefs about liberty and living unconstrained. Enjoyed reading your latest poem, and appreciate your comment on my poem today. Be safe and well, John

John, I absolutely agree with you. It touches ones soul to see these beautiful beings and knowing they free spirits and living their life the way they were born to be. Thank you so much for your kind remarks.

Wonderful Judith. A lovely tribute to the wild ponies not only of Chincoteague but everywhere the wild horses live. I love all animals especially the wild ones who are so endangered. Great job here. Rip Tide sounds awesome. God Bless, JB

Thank you, Judy, for your comment. It is much appreciated. More people need to protect our wild animals and nature itself.
