From the very moment I knew of your existence I couldn't wait to meet you Feeling you growing and moving inside me Like many pregnant women I’d stroke my bump Thinking of the new life we had created Who would you resemble? What hair and eye colour would you have? For nine months I nurtured you I was desperate to meet you But you kept me waiting You were in no hurry to leave your cosy home Overdue by ten days …. Eventually the day arrived and I went into labour They don’t call it labour for nothing - its hard work! Twenty-four hours later the waiting was over Finally I held my precious son in my arms Contest-Waiting Sponsor James Rogers 09~05~15

A long wait that leaves both parents in suspense right up to the very end. As a father I know what a special moment it is, let alone for the mother! A very lovely and tender take on the theme. Hugs // paul

Thanks Paul for the lovely comment - it is an incredibly special time waiting - and boy he kept me waiting all my friends had had theirs I was the last one of the 'group' to give birth. We had no idea of the sex of the baby - we didn't want to know, but that that time where we lived they wouldn't have told us anyway:-) Hugs Jan xx

I can only imagine the waiting in anticipation. Yes I had it with my 4 kids but it wasn't the same as having a life inside you.

So this is what Free Verse is...I sure admire the way you have caused such an idyll moment of the blissful child birth with this form. I certainly know of the not so blissful; in your case twenty four hour pangs of birth...not that I have physically felt yet when you love the mother, you feel her pain, trust me, 5x's! ...Ok...enyore arcane mi p.s. thank you for the dirrection
