Resurface

Resurface,,how long has it been? Why can I see now what I couldn't back then? Then wasn't a time when it needed to be understood, And you had to sit through it for a while before you could get up to move, What was really going on the whole time was a process unconveyed, I would later understand it was a part of God's plan to open my eyes through the pain, Unfair as it may seem, I'm subjected to the mess, Lord, please tell me what did I do to deserve this? They say it's an attack of the enemy, but I believe, There's much more to this than what I can temporarily see, Love engraved in my heart from so long ago, Faith and high hopes, full of dreams, Little did I know later on the life that I would see, What made no sense to me then, through the buckets of tears that I shed, Was a cleansing so powerful I didn't realize it was putting my heart to the test, The passion of my heart rose up inside me, yet through preparation I could not see, That God was refining a love so pure, these experiences were molding me, The pain that could not see the purpose behind the bad things that happen, The uncomfortable suffering that was allowed to be felt only for a moment, But the end result will amaze you, as you hold onto the love through the song, And you will look back at resurface in a whole New light, the lesson left, but the love never gone.
