Restless Head

outside, in arrows of shadow, darkness rides out from skyscrapers that loom across the grid of streets, puncturing this day that hangs unsure in this distending late afternoon light; she glances around the room, floor polished by their bare feet, pillows, bed sheets in knowing disarray, again, on him her restless head rests in this distending late afternoon light.
