Resonance

"Resonance occurs when the matching vibrations of another object increase the amplitude of an object's oscillations" I see this dictionary definition And recognise There's something I need to learn All this 'feeling different' vibe Makes me feel broken But then suddenly There's a zing Very simple stuff I connect to another human So I think They are being polite And I'm on my way Feeling hollow I listen but I don't hear Can I tune in I'm very conscious About outstaying my welcome Putting people out Looking for the vibe That means I missed the cue Misunderstood Made a fool of myself But I'm missing the sound Missing the words Sometimes spoken out loud Even now I can't type it I take the little moment Wrap it up neat And say that was nice But I won't get in too deep My feelings can't take it Resonating with fewer Should make it easier I might not change But I've learnt a little At any point in time I can sort this out Though I'm like a little lighthouse Attracting attention Then steering people away But I don't want them to crash on the rocks Simply Poetry 2 Poetry Contest 5th April 2023 Sponsored by: John lawless

He was the type of person that could brighten up a room by walking out of it. RESONANCE....I sometimes try to explain/understand it using the tuning fork analogy...they all vibrate but will only resonate with those of the same frequency.....or something like that. thanks for entering the contest

have you ever visited and made up a cue that's its time to leave when one of you cough ? Well in such a way, when they want you to go, they will ever so gentle utter SHOVE OFF. (that will give you a hint.) Love your poem, its quite paradoxical to worry about overstaying your visit, attract people and steer them away all in one poem. Only you Dilly Dally could do it !
