Resignation
She gathers roses
with the grace of one
who challenged grief and won.
In waning light,
with lanterns lit and fire ablaze
she settles to her solitude
as the darkening warm evening
wraps her in its arms and leaves
her to her dreams,
dreams of love and faith
that will sustain her now he's gone,
but not forgotten.
