Requited Love

Tiptoeing through the garden of love Stalking the wild rose to give her, my treasure Oblivious to the thorns wounds of a cooing dove Watching you in the window the sun of pleasure Concealing forbidden love from the rest of the world In the shadows attending you every need, my queen My poem the flower of all dreams, my mind is whirled Bound in chains by the fourth wall, nothing is what it seems Seeing all the requite, in public she must truly love this man Passing me the restraining order, she casts her lovely deadpan
