Requiem To the Flower
That flower never seemed to grow
Planted in hard dry soil,
In crowded roots of isolation,
Watered with careless expectations.
That flower never seemed to bloom,
Weighed down by pressure and criticisms.
Impeccable flaws all in a loom
weaved into the strains with disappointment.
That flower was suppose to be beautiful,
Suppose to be the apple of envy’s eyes,
Discriminated by the less beauty
Overshadowed, now in a blight.
Scarred by our own vanity,
That flower was suppose to grow and bloom beautifully .
But it soon died under the same sun
That gave it life.
