Requiem
A man once pondered
On fate’s deep scars
As his mind wandered,
Drawn by the stars.
Gazing in sorrow
Up at the moon,
He mourned the morrow
Ever too soon.
Warmth and seclusion
Were his to seek,
Golden illusions
When days grew bleak.
Many reflections
Swelled from his past:
Dire recollections,
Forceful and vast.
Silence and stillness
Haunt him again:
Such is his illness,
His requiem.
