Renewing Memory

4 Dec 2021 5:30 PM Hard stone and cement sidewalk flowing down hill Warmed by the sun and laced with daffodills Spring wind clearing the snow from my mind Birds, bugs and squirrels all talking at one time Fresh green leaves waveing hello Butterflies drinking nector from the fragrant yellow What a warm sweet memory from the days of my youth On this cold winter evening whispering this truth Through short years lived as time gets harder My heart is renewed through thoughtful wander Thank you Father for this sweet moment past That as I grow older in my mind still last To remind me not of what was, to make me longingly sad But to lift my spirit because what was will once again be had
