Reminded
said to be silly
in this day & age
to believe for a
second that all
it would take is
to remind the one
you love that
you love them,
that it would take
a simple form,
that it could be
simple & unprovoked,
that it would have
even more of
a positive effect
than you ever could
imagine---just
by letting them know,
that it wouldn’t take
money, that it wouldn’t
take promises that
no one in a million
could live up to, that
it wouldn’t take
a whole false way of
“newness” that
we all know gets
lost as the days pass
anyway, that it
would be the grounds
of a precious
memory that they’d
keep safely inside
until that last breath &
most of all,
that
it
would
work.
