My Dearest Rhyme Time Friend, the beauty of your gratitude shines in this soulful piece inspired by your Remembrance Day experience in England. Indeed, your poetic eloquence conveys rich symbolism and the red poppies take on a greater significance other than just a beautiful flower to be admired. But, your golden pen and poet's soul are to be admired for the creative and soulful gems they bestow upon those who have the pleasure to read your emotive and impressive works. Congratulations, my poetry sis, for your excellent win in Andrea's contest. Your loving heart never fails you. Warmest wishes and hugs sent across the swaying poppies.. ~Susan

Sam, this would have been a second place if it had used punctuation. I am telling that to the few people whose poems were truly impressive for me, but I really love seeing comma, period and hyphen! haha. Congrats, Sam. Love this.

Thank you so much Andrea! I debated about adding a comma after the fifth line. Guess it wouldn't have hurt. I loved this opportunity to write about the Remembrance Day I experienced in England. Great contest. Fun form. Thanksgiving blessings.

Anne-Lise, many, many thanks! As a child I would sometimes wander through a cemetery close to our home and wonder of the lives of those buried there. Those experiences left an indelible mark of gratitude in me as I thought about why these people were there and how they came to be buried in that graveyard! It was truly an honor to write this nonet! Blessings! Grateful for your best wishes! Hugs! :)

Thank you so much Milt! It is always an honor to honor our veterans who have given us so much including their very lives! In our age of self indulgence, like you, I believe their sacrifice must be remembered! Remembrance Day in England left a deep impression in my heart. Very special. Especially the red poppies! All the best.
