Remembrance
Remembrance
White crosses stand in Flanders field by rows
Where poppies grow in vivid colours red.
The colour where spilt blood from body flows,
Poppies remind of those fallen and dead.
To wear a poppy on remembrance day,
A symbol showing that we are aware
In war supreme sacrifice man will pay.
So we in freedom are able to share.
Remembrance day is one of reflection,
On the price paid gaining peace to be won.
Families torn apart, a vast selection.
This war held promise of no more to come.
The lust for power has caused years of pain
Wars haven't ceased, man's still at it again.
