Remembering When
I remember when
my life use to be fun,
now I just wish it was
over and done.
I remember when
I didn't have a care,
now that's all my time is
filled with and not a minute to spare.
I remember when
I didn't have to worry,
and my life didn't consist
of having to be in a hurry.
I remember when I
could ask for advice,
but in this day and age
I stop and think twice.
I remember when
I didn't have to fight,
or worry about having to
plead my case when
I knew I was right.
I remember when
I wanted to be on my own,
but I don't remember when
I ever felt so alone.
