Remembering the Present
I have become lethargic,
Barely able to lift a care,
This outer body feeling,
Just kind of floating here…
My mind is in overdrive,
Wheels spinning at will,
Outside looking in,
Wondering if it is real…
I take a step back,
Placing one foot in front of the other,
I am pushed out to the front,
These pressures and burdens will smother…
I have lost my way in life,
Time and time again,
But I get right back on track,
And end up right back where I’ve been…
I keep keeping on,
It is what it is,
I am good at playing this game,
It is the life I live…
But when the time comes,
I will put it all away,
I will remember all I’ve done,
And live in the present day…
