Remembering Matthew

The other day at work a friend had asked if i knew you, I just smiled and closed me eyes and said "yes. of course I do" I was speaking in first person, as though you were still here we laughed and all he talked about was that you were always there. He told me he was struggling, with problems in his life, and you, you were his lifeline You said things would be alright. `you were a happy little soldier always laughing with your friends who would have guessed that months ago you brought life to an end. I remember seeing you that very night, looking troubled, all alone, I really wish you'd said to us, we wouldn't let you go And now it's with such deep regret I have to say your name, followed by "he's no longer here" He chose to end his pain. But what a lovely comfort it is to hear them say, you were somebody's lifeline we should have had the same. There is no point in crying, Now what's done is done, You left a lovely legacy And people's hearts you've won. When you heart stopped beating you took your final test but one thing that we all know God, he took the best. Fondly remembering Matthew Alex Beddingfield
