Remember When
Do you remember
When we were just kids
Running and playing
That first stolen kiss
Summer time romances
Starting to bloom
Sneaking out windows
To dance under the moon
Innocence protected
Something cherished
To be saved
The world at our fingers
If we only dared dream
Sleep overs and camp fires
The forth of July
A time of relaxation
Away from the strife
These were the good days
Cherished time lost
Children of today
They really are robbed
In such a busy day
Where there's no time to pray
Now it's computers and cell phones
So much technology
No personal visits
From people we love
We all just facetime
From our bedrooms or cars
A really sad story
To pass down the line
No hugging or kissing
Just emojis and such
We've forgotten the basics
Of how to show love
By dropping by houses
Just to say hello
When it comes to emotions
We have all just pushed mute
When it comes to compassion
We are illterate and numb
