Remember Them

Tears in the eyes of the young and the old. A poppy on our chests, our gratitude told. For those who died and those who did not, We shall remember them, they'll not be forgot.

Very nicely done, Francine. The poppies seem to be an international symbol to remind us of our veterans. Perhaps this came to be after the poem "In Flanders Fields" was written about a military cemetery. If you can't whittle your contest entry, don't worry. 16 lines is okay with me. Just didn't want super long poems. I don't mind one more line. Love, Carolyn
