Remember Child

It is okay to make a mess, I will not love you any less. Eat chocolate, eat French fries, be happy because time flies. Skip rope, climb a tree, let your inner child always run free. Feel the sun shine upon your hair, watch the moon when it is there. Wish upon a star, believe, dream, no matter how silly that may seem. Listen to music, sing along, but hear the words of the song. Read long stories, get lost in a book, find yourself a quiet nook. Write lyrics, write poetry, and don't be afraid to let others see. Take photographs, keep them and then, look back and remember when. Know you will always have a home, even if you decide to roam. Care about people, animals, too, but don't let worry overwhelm you. Love your life as best you can, even when it is not what you plan.

I'm inspired. Just looking at how much you read my work. I'm inspired to write again of romance. Things that matter. If I may sudgest Look up Elizibeth Wesley she's my favorite here on the soup but she has long been gone. Keep up the good work Time will not forget us if we make what others love. And You do posses that power.

This was so sincere, important and beautifully expressed. As a former kindergarten teacher and parent of three, one homeschooled, I loved and appreciated this poem. All of it is so important. "Know you'll always have a home even if you decide to roam" are lines that brought me little tears. My daughter is graduating from college in 3 months and moving to another state to work. I would love to write these lines in her card. I'm so happy to have found your poem, it is beautiful.
