Religion Ruins Everything

RELIGION RUINS EVERYTHING By Roy Merritt The malice of gods unseen malice of millenniums past The evil one can readily conjure and difficult to surpass No matter which faith it claim no matter where it grew No matter those it proclaim naught but hate they spew And despite their proclamations of love of hopeful measure Trust not what they seek, in the end it mostly be treasure Onward Christian soldier onward the Jihadist they screech Onward bring destruction their walls we soon will breach And if not for conversion if they don’t kneel to our ways We bring them but carnage the end of their spiteful days Callous be our churches hatred in our mosques resound Explosions rock the streets to hell we all be bound What do we know of gods what claim we have of worth That a deity would reveal himself to we who dwell on earth I can’t imagine at all shall never come to understand The good there might be in we blood soaked human man None have said it better than Hitchens long past had seen That god is unworthy of us religion ruins everything It make one willing to murder it make one easily to war It make one distrustful of all and millions to curse and abhor It make one turn on neighbors it make one turn on a friend It make one to desecration it make one to wallow in sin Don’t dare ponder your contradiction with any kind of rationale Don’t question the words of those so wretched perverse and foul Though fools we know they be fools from that distant Bronze Age Fools we certainly see filled with superstitious and foolish rage What fear they of modernity what fear they have of wisdom What makes them wish to dwell and languish in this prison What think you when some time what will it we thus replace When we upon some time encounter others about in space Will we adopt their gods what will it be we say If he not be the one we cherish and daily to whom we pray Will we call for conversion to Jehovah or to Allah they kneel Will we continue our wars the unbelievers curse and kill Will we at last come to see what Hitchens had clearly seen That god is unworthy of us religion ruins everything

Wow! Really expressive and deeply sacrilegious ~ I like it a lot, there is so much here to think about.

Well Phil my intent was necessarily sacrilegious or inclined to insult the faithful of any religious philosophy, but rather those who wallow in hypocrisy in the name of religion. However I must admit I am not a believer, but a humanist, a long tradition in some circles back to the Enlightenment. I'm glad you liked it.
