Release

Sitting on a sinking stone bench overlooking headstones overgrown by bramble and bush, I listen to weak whispers of sad spirits who await release to the other side. gentle chimes pleasing tones scattered to the winds dark shades search the sky

You capture a mood that holds one's attention. You want to turn away from the emotion evoked, but still ... Poetry at its best. Have a great weekend, Linda :)

such delicate sadness in your poem...it truly touched my soul. Loved 'weak whispers of sad spirits waiting for release to the other side.' The notion of souls caught 'in-between' fascinates me. Truly loved your poem. Have a great evening, Sara

There's such gentle sadness in this one Linda - it is beautiful and evocative all the same. I quite like graveyards (when passing through). I suppose that's the idea x
