Reflections On Faith
So much faith
Going up in flames
Is it safe to believe in life after death?
Paint his face red
Give the devil a face
He needs your blood for his makeup
His car bomb
Is parked in my driveway
And I’m taking it straight back to the manufacturer
So much faith
In the gun in my safe
‘cos I can’t bring myself to love my enemies
Morning news
On last night’s nightmares
Bleeding streets...rolled up in today’s newspapers
We mirror his face
With our reflections on faith
‘cos we can’t turn the other cheek
So much faith
Going up in a chorus of prayer
Answered in a hail of bullets
Yeah paint him red
So with his bloodshot eyes
He can watch your eternal damnation
How do we surrender
Lay down our arms
When it’s our very hands that are weaponised?
So much belief
In our elected leadership
But who’s leading them in their ways?
Oh So much faith
At every corner a church
Or is it a front...operating as a business branch?
We mimic his hand
We the rulers of this world
And he’s winning this fight hands down
Yeah paint his face red
Down here we’re beautiful
It’s a paradise theme...so powerful
Oh So much faith
Going up in smoke
Why still all the human sacrifice on earth?
Open parliament in prayer
Follow the ten commandments
And maybe our governments will trade love and peace
Paint his face red
‘cos our hearts are black
Even the parts that are good...are too dark to look
Oh So much faith
But is it blind faith
I guess we’ve got to keep the faith
