Reflections
As seasons pass,
a new reflection is seen in still water
Another ripple crosses
Another petal falls
In this solitude truth is found
revealing what is, between earth and sky
The bending light from the sun,
captures every line worn,
or cut into the face by the burdens of life,
moving from season to season,
as it holds onto memories, long gone,
if they ever were at all.
Searching for something to fill time,
between now and the inevitable.
Another ripple crosses
Another petal falls
Another season passes,
the still water has dried up,
leaving nothing but parched earth,
capturing every line cut into the ground,
where memories of a pond are passed on.
