Reflections

When I saw you today, I sensed your deep despair. You’ve existed so long, in a world without care. Your hair was a mess, your clothing all torn. you frantically hid, when the light upon you shone. You ran from me, fought with me and spit in my face. All I could muster, was you’re a disgrace. I woke up again, with a feeling of dread. Did I really just live that, was it all in my head. I looked out and saw you, within the glass pane You looked so empty, the backdrop sharp rain. still you ran from me, fought with me and spit in my face. This time I lost you, you left not a trace As the day drew longer, I just couldn’t rest I dropped another bottle and it tore through my flesh. I looked down and felt you, I shed a singular tear It was you again, I saw this time in the smear. You ran from me, fought with me and spit in my face Except it was never you, it was me that I raced.
