Reflection

By serene temple grounds, We kinsmen gather round; Say our prayers profound, Joss-stick fumes now surround. An unbroken chain spells, Heed the loud temple bells; Family ties weave tell In chanting trance that dwells. We come here to commune, Our prayer tokens tune; Let grateful hearts attune, Watch the smoky ash runes. Knowing the life we see, Seed common mystery, Poise of eternity, Stillness in harmony. Before life a sure feel, This mortal life a thrill; Then after life reveals An unending appeal. The soul comes round and round, Upon these earthly grounds; Life lives not lost but found In grace and light and sound. Learn then to purge all fear, For love seeds zest sincere; Live joy and peace that cheers, Life goes on in all spheres. The death of flesh transits, Life of another wit; Love poise in easy fit, Discern the truth in bits. Leon Enriquez 02 February 2015 Singapore
