Reexamining the Correct Path Forward

I exhale before each inhale. I unfurl the umbrella before I jump. Exhale. Rarefied air slows the descent, spelunking, searching for the key that unlocks the safe where I placed your heart. Inhale. Jet streams lift me up over the cresting clouds. Exhale. Sunset. Inhale, the sun rises, streaming through the keyhole. Exhale, the first tumbler falls.

You've certainly detoured from your story form I got used to. These are lovely little images which somehow caused me to hold my breath :)

I've just been having trouble writing lately, can't seem to get much started. But I've been having fun with these shorter poems! I'm glad you enjoy them, feels good to at least put something out there : )
