Red Water

Coursing, pulsing, breaking through Red water fills her veins anew A liquid life to guarantee That she is as human as he She draws the blade across the skin Digging deep to sink it in Her gesture brings a sudden flood Red water, life, her very blood Pooling dark upon the floor Her foot holds still the swinging door He enters slow and cries in vain Red water spilled like pooling rain
