Recovery
Subtle memories play around my mind,
Including your pointless excuses.
Hiding behind innocence,
You’ve managed to overcome me.
Pity the days when we would laugh,
My ignorance surpassing my wit;
You knew I would follow you,
You knew I’d be soon to submit.
Broken, my trust has set itself against you,
Yet your deceptions never falter.
My eyes see one thing,
Still I hear another.
