Recipe Gone Wrong

I was in the mood for baking With recipe book in hand Instructions for a cake were found I couldn't wait to start Lining up all my ingredients To reach them when they're needed One by one the contents added I think I'm ready to stir the bowl Just then my neighbour came to the door We chatted for what seemed like hours We had so much to catch up on I for got about the cake I put the batter into the oven Setting the timer for forty minutes Anticipation kept me waiting For the cake to be done The oven beeped, I opened the door Only to discover a giant liquid mess I realized I forgot an important ingredient The flour,it was missing Instead of being angry Laughter burst out of me Better to laugh insteas of crying Not all recipes turn out right

Your true life experiences, Darlene, are some of the best, then getting it all down on paper and sharing them with us, is the best delight of all, you err on just being human, and that is what makes you so endearing, a Gin and tonic on the way whilst you clear up the mess . . . : )

Thank you Scott, I wrote this poem because this happened to me. My neighbour came to see me at the wrong time. I forgot to put in one ingredient and that is when it went wrong. I had a good laugh about the whole thing.
