Real Men

There is more to being a man than most people see He isn't a man just because he stands to pee It's about being loyal even if he endures pain When things get tough a real man will remain Some say to hell with substance, they desire to be cool They live Fonze like lives, all the while they're the fool Grasping for temporary sad women in their wake It's all about pleasure they take all that they can take There are many good ones take a closer look Behind a tattered cover can be a worthwhile book Sometimes the fellow, with those bedroom eyes Is blind to your beauty, his mind's only on your thighs Stop looking for bad boys, they often break your heart To find a happy ending, you must make the right start

WOW!!! This is amazing, Richard....Oh yes yes yes! Bad boys....Hmmmmmm....they do have a certain charm. I guess it is that sense of living outside of rules and being free...in the end, a woman wants comfort and security...and TRUE LOVE. Unfortunately, for most...that revelation comes too late. Lovely poem. Bedroom eyes can be blind...loved that stanza....

What an artful, inspiring dance through a manhood most people never understand. And your line: "Is blind to your beauty, his mind's only on your thighs". I think you would agree with me that a woman's beauty is a reflection of her soul. One of the most beautiful women I have ever known had a disfiguring scar across her face. But her soul was dazzling. I came to appreciate that scar. It became part of her beauty. I think I shall write a poem about her. Thanks for the inspiration...Sam

Thanks Leon. When I was in High school it seemed the bad boys got most of the dates. I'm glad that changed as we all matured.
