Ready For the Afterlife
A long time ago I made a pact with myself
To live a caring and honourable life
With just a few years left, I'm pretty well satisfied
I'm ready for the afterlife
Not a very religious man but the older I've become
I'm wondering about what's up ahead
If there's an afterlife and a place known as Heaven
Or when we die, all we are is dead
Guess I'll know the answer quite soon enough
Don't mind waiting a few more years
Not ready yet, got lotsa stuff to take care of
So don't worry, allay all your fears
I'm probably Poetry Soup's senior most member
Though I really can't say for sure
Not looking for any kind a special treatment
Just friendships and nothing more
