Rainbow
Perennially scourged
Always on the run
Panicked at heart
Incessant gunshots
Lost I my parents, my kid brother
My elder sister kidnapped
I saw my people marched in herds to the distant valley
I know they will never come back
The raindrops still drench
Treetops, sprawling fields
The clouds still gather
Over mountain ridges
Afghanistan, Gaza strip, Iraq
The images are blurred
Hushed procession of faceless men
Borders the horizon like standing corpses
Yet
I stretch
I jump
I heave
To
Touch for once
The all- embracing rainbow
