Rain On a Tin Roof
Sheets and bolts of distant lightning
Backdropped by a blue gray sky
Rumbling thunder softly, deeply
As the steady pitter patter, pitter patter
Of rain on a tin roof fluctuating
Playing symphonies to the soul
With natural melodic choruses
And invitations to the Ancient dance
Of wind-driven clouds sweeping low
Whirling visions and peace of mind
To a captive audience within
Letting down their windows
Falling, lying with ears to the floor
As the rain echoes throughout the house
