It has rained in waves all night Thunder roared; lightning flashed its light Snuggling down under the covers My sanity trying to recover Wondering about the wild things plight Infinitesimal birds and all resting sights God keep them safe as thunder shakes And preserve us lest we break The rain is needed to make a crop It fills the creeks with each drop Flowing, flowing on ahead Joins another creek outspread Soon the river will be filled And there will be blooms from daffodils All the trees will become spring green And of my love I'll truly dream April will shake her rain drenched hair So May flowers' scent will fill the air Early plants in the garden will be ready We'll gather them though our balance unsteady

Anne-Lise, I guess in most cold climates when it gets cold instead of snow, it snows. I don't know how people deal with it though. You are stronger than me. Thanks for dropping by. Sara K

Dearest, Sara your poem beautifully captures the essence of a rainy night and the hope it brings for renewal and growth. The imagery of thunder, lightning, and the soothing rhythm of raindrops eloquently shows nature's power and beauty. Your concern for the safety of the smallest creatures amidst the storm reflects a deep connection to the world around you. The anticipation of blooming flowers evoke a sense of optimism and longing. Loved every word! I Always Enjoy Reading Your Poems: - Blessings, Daniel

I do have hope Daniel. Maybe sun today. I think something happened after I went to sleep last night because the clocks were messed up this morning which says the electricity went off at some point. Thanks for your kind review and the Blessings. Sara K

Your poem was filled with delightful imagery, and I loved how you conveyed the restorative power of nature. That feeling of hope after rain nourishes the land it also nourishes us humans as well, renewing us, balancing, and restoring our faith after our personal storms. Well done, hugs, Sara B

Thank you, Sara B. Yes, we can compare our lives to the rains or getting the rain. There can be showers of blessings or flooding. Your visit was refreshing. Sara K

Sara, you have written beautifully of the power of hope - the power of restoration and the power of nature to put everything in order! Such impactful and powerful images. We still need rain but it looks like we are in for several wet days at the end of this week. I love to hunker down at night and listen to the cadence of life in raindrops. Blessings and prayers. Hopefully it isn't time to stock the ark!

Sam, God gave us a promise that the earth would not be cleansed by water again so only isolated flooding happens. Our creek was slightly out of its banks at some point. We got around 6 inches of rain in less then 24 hours. They say we will continue to get rain until around 7 tonight and then wind will start up. Thanks for dropping by. Sara K

Why, thank you, Paula. I think we probably have had over 6 inches since about 5:30 P.M. yesterday. It is supposed to end about sundown. Thanks for stopping by. Sara K

Without rain, the landscape will become a desert. Also needed for drinking.

Victor, and bathing, and cooking and cleaning up(even though we don't like that chore). Thank you, Victor, for the nice review. Sara K

I like the positive outlook you convey, Sara. Though it is hard to enjoy when it floods causing destruction--in the long term rain is much needed. And yes--there will be blooms soon and it will be all worthwhile.
