Race

I’m disconnected, far far away When I met you it was a happy day But the days have gone so hard Like the turning of a bad card Luck has run short and slow I know in the end it’s got to go Will I ever understand? Will I ever make a stand? Apples always turn sour Like minutes to an hour It’s just something that takes place Just how someone always wins the race But where does the race head? Is it that love is dead? Are we racing to the line? Are we convincing ourselves that it’s fine? Do we run or do we stop? Is it defined by the ticking of a clock? Is it all controlled by time? Time creates the finishing line The only thing not to race Are the changing things that take place Things will always end in life Relationships, jobs and eventually life The only thing that never ends Is life’s series of twists and bends Change is the only everlasting factor So change with the change and life will be laughter
