Quote Me Rumi

Wounded Rainbows "The wound is the place where the light enters you." I wonder in my soul if that could be true? For within all my cracks, I see your shadow One day will you be the source of a rainbow? Is it possible God will supply the light? Your prism being infused with pure white! My wounded heart is in need of your colours. Do you mean it when you say we are brothers? For Silent One's "Quote me Rumi contest." The first line of my poem is the Rumi quote. You say you judge blind, how will you be able to see my rainbows???

Ooooh I love Rumi, and you've penned a marvelous thought provoking piece. I don't know if I've ever thought of a rainbow as ever being "wounded" before... but I suppose even the most luminescent of things can have their dark days. Though I've not seen you in the flesh, I do hope to call you brother ... if only through the web!

This quote is from Rumi's Masnavi about his LOVE and his MASTER, his TEACHER " Shams-e-Tabrizi". He was in love with that man.He spent 2 years, day and night with him. He even wrote that although, Shams was not God, but he was not less than God either. The word Shams in Farsi (Persian Language) means "the Sun" ( the source of light) and he (RUMI) was the wounded heart. The quote was all about love and nothing else. I entered that contest as well. Rumi was greatly effected when his friend vanished. You have great knowlege about this extrodinary poet.

I had to read this one, Richard. Rumi is awesome. May I recommend your going to YouTube and type in Eric Whitacre's "This Marriage." It is a choral arrangement he did for his wife and the poem is Rumi's. If you don't know of it already, I think the combination of music and word will touch you deeply. Have a good one
