Quiet Champion

You’ve emptied yourself, Abandoned giver of everything Drifter into unknown seas You can’t see your mirror Covered, stained with deep self-pity Riding high the back of sorrow Tortured, broken. You’ve emptied yourself, again I bare witness, again Shed more tears than I care to As many times necessary I will lift you up You will see what I see The leaves on the trees will green Birds on their limbs won’t be silent The quiet champion in you Will rise to reclaim glory.

There is not an inessential line in this entire piece. '...the quiet champion in you will rise to reclaim glory.' Well done my dear! Best wishes, Keith
